Safety

All the materials used are sterile and single-use.

Samples are transported in appropriate transport boxes, labelled and protected.

All samples receive a unique ID in the form of a barcode. These allow tracing of the daughter samples to the original blood tube, but do not allow the identification of the donor. Donor identity is not associated to any sample nor is recorded elsewhere. Only sex, age and medication information are collected.

All materials and discarded samples are destroyed by heat in an autoclave and disposed as biohazard waste for further processing.
