CQE members - Kamran T. Mahmudov, Maximilian N. Kopylovich, M. Fátima C. Guedes da Silva and Armando J. L. Pombeiro edited and written a few chapters of the book entitled "Noncovalent Interactions in Catalysis" published by Royal Society of Chemistry (UK).
In a new article, published today as an advanced HOT article in the journal Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, Prof. Tomé, his PhD student Sara Fernandes and colleagues, review novel synthetic strategies to develop photoimmunoconjugates for cancer treatment by photodynamic therapy (PDT).
Following the signature at the Rectory of the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between this University and the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), the College of Chemistry of the ULisboa (CQUL) was invited by the BUCT to visit this Chinese University. The visit was held on December 2nd - 9th, 2018, aiming to establish future cooperation under the scope of the signed MOU, being currently underway the establishment of protocols with some Schools of the ULisboa and the BUCT.
Prof. Armando Pombeiro has been elected Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences. He has contributed to the development of the inter- and transdiciplinarity of Chemistry towards sustainability and internationalization.
Dr. Sónia Carabineiro, Collaborator Member of CQE, will be awarded by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) with a Scientific Recognition Prize, as part of the celebrations of the Faculty Day, taking place on 14 January 2019.
The 8th Vanadis Award, an international prize, was awarded to Professor Armando Pombeiro on November 8th, 2018, during the 11th International Vanadium Symposium held at Montevideo, Uryguay, after which Prof. Pombeiro gave the Vanadis award lecture.
