Prof. Armando Pombeiro elected member of Academia Europaea

Prof. Armando J. L.Pombeiro has been elected member of Academia Europaea. This is the 1^st election of a Portuguese scholar to the Chemical Sciences Section.

Academia Europaea is a large-scale European Academy, oriented not only towards natural and technological sciences but also towards the Humanities, law, economic, social and political sciences. The aim of the Academy is "to promote European research, advise governments and international organisations in scientific matters, and further interdisciplinary and international research."

Becoming a member of the Academia is by invitation only and follows a rigorous peer review process by each relevant section. CQE congratulates Prof. Pombeiro for this achievement.
