The CQE participated in the Técnico Innovation Summit (TIS) 2026, held on 3 February at Instituto Superior Técnico, engaging directly with companies, partners and the wider innovation community.
Throughout the event, CQE hosted a dedicated booth, presenting cutting-edge solutions developed within the centre and fostering dialogue with industry stakeholders around real-world applications in sustainability, materials and energy.
Ana Paula Serro delivered live demonstrations on contact lenses with pharmacological activity, currently at an advanced stage of development and close to market application.
CQE’s participation also involved CQE-affiliated companies, further strengthening the centre’s engagement with industry:
- Smartfreez – represented by Patricia Galán
- Delox – represented by Fernando Antunes
- C2C – represented by Rui Sampaio
In addition, CQE contributed to two roundtable discussions addressing key challenges in sustainability and innovation:
- Advanced materials, circular economy and green buildings, with participation by Pedro Mendes
- Sustainable energy, smart cities and mobility, with participation by M. Fátima Montemor
CQE’s participation in TIS 2026 highlighted its role as an interface between research and industry, showcasing solution-driven research and reinforcing its commitment to knowledge transfer, collaboration, and market-oriented innovation.
