From November 9th to December 1st, PhD student Gustavo Maia carried out a part of his doctoral research at the Astrobiology Analytical Laboratory at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in the United States. His research focused on investigating mechanochemistry's impact on the soluble organic molecules (SOM) found in extraterrestrial samples.
During his time at GSFC, Gustavo also had the opportunity to visit several remarkable facilities on campus. Among them was NASA’s Clean Room, once utilized for assembling the James Webb Space Telescope and now serving as the construction site for the NASA Roman Space Telescope.
