On September 9, CQE hosted another edition of the CQE BreakThrough Talks, featuring Prof. Javier García-Martínez, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at University of Alicante, Spain, and former President of IUPAC. In his talk, “Reimagining Catalysis for a Sustainable Future: From Discovery to Commercialization”, he explored innovative nanoengineered catalysts, including self-pillared nanosheets and hierarchical mesoporous materials, and their applications in alkylation, cracking, dehydration and plastic waste valorization. The talk also highlighted the challenges of translating scientific discoveries into industrial technologies, drawing on his experience co-founding Rive Technology.
