Zita Martins, Vice-President for International Affairs at the Instituto Superior Técnico and CQE researcher, has been appointed Co-Chair of the CESAER Task Force on Dual Use, Defence and Space, with a mandate running until the end of 2027.
The task force operates within CESAER, a European association bringing together leading universities of science and technology across 24 countries.
In this role, Zita Martins will contribute to shaping the strategic positioning of universities in areas where research, defense, and space technologies intersect, reinforcing the importance of academic institutions as key actors in addressing emerging societal and geopolitical challenges.
Her appointment highlights the growing relevance of research communities linked to the CQE in international policy and innovation discussions, particularly in domains where advanced science translates into high-impact applications.
