Mechanochemistry Training School

COST action CA18112 Mechanochemistry for Sustainable Industry (MechSustInd) aims at community building of mechanochemists across Europe.

Next week CQE will host of the COST action Training school on “Mechanochemistry: from supramolecular to covalent bonds”. Teresa Duarte and Vânia André both belong to this COST action are Training School organizers. The school will be held online, and will be based on theoretical and pre-recorded “hands-on” experiments in the use of mechanochemistry in the synthesis of supramolecular and covalently bond materials. Different types of mechanochemical approaches will be explained and used, from mortar and pestle to different sort of mills. Classes will also cover some of the characterization techniques available on site: single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, ATR-FTIR, Raman, TGA-DSC and ss-NMR, among others. The training school will last 4 days, starting on Monday 22nd March and finishing on Thursday 25th March. All sessions will be held online, via zoom sessions. Information on the program can be fiund in the flyer.
