Luís Belchior on Chemforum

Prof. Luís Belchior from CIQUP-IMS will be the next Chemforum speaker in the 6^th of April, in zoom. Luís M. N. B. F. Santos (Luís Belchior) got his degree and PhD in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) from the University of Porto. He is an Associate Professor with Aggregation in the area of Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, member of the CIQUP -  Research Center in Chemistry of the University of Porto and group leader of the research group RG#3 | NSO-nanostructures & self-organization.
He has an intense collaboration with the society, through scientific and innovative projects with companies and colleges from the northern region {BOSCH (Car Multimédia Portugal, S.A.); GALP Energia (Leça da Palmeira refinery); AEC-Agrupamento de Escolas do Cerco}. He is a member of the General Council of the University of Porto, was President of the National Higher Education Union (SNESup), Director of the Degree in Chemistry and member of the Council of Representatives and Scientific Council of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. For more than two decades, he has been developing independent research in Physical Chemistry, particullarly in the areas of calorimetry, molecular energetics, thermophysics and functionality of materials and experimental methodologies. In his CV there are currently more than 200 articles in international journals (> 6000 references), organization of several international conferences and schools in the field of thermodynamics and ionic liquids (eg ECTP2014, ILWS2017).
