CQE joined Semana da Ciência e Tecnologia 2018

Centro de Química Estrutural joined the Semana da Ciência e Tecnologia 2018, promoted by Ciência Viva, conducting three events from 21-23 November 2018. The events consisted of a guided visit to three exhibition modules on the growth of crystals "On the Rocks", the observation of chemical reactions and crystallizations through a stereomicroscope and an exhibition on applied microscopy, “Artisans of the 21st Century". These modules were distributed in Centro de Química Estrutural, Complex I, in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Torre Sul and in Alfredo Bensaúde Museum, in collaboration with Prof. Manuel Francisco Costa Pereira. The title of this divulgation action, which is the responsibility of Clementina Teixeira is "Chemistry and Art: We are Elements of the Periodic Table".

Ideas for feasible projects in schools were presented, emphasizing the role of Periodic Table Elements, preparing the activities for next year in which the Periodic Table will be highlighted. The event was reported in several newspapers. The guided tour will be open to schools participating in the project “Scientifically Probable” from the Network of School Libraries and will be available for at least two years.
