Alexandra Antunes start-up selected for funding

Clarify Analytical (http://www.clarifyanalytical.pt/), a start-up founded by the CQE’s Principal Researcher Alexandra Antunes, was one of the selected Portuguese SMEs to receive funding under the highly competitive SME instrument Phase I @H2020SME pilot programme.

Clarify LUPUS, is a simple blood test for earlier diagnosis and prognosis of the autoimmune disease Lupus. This product is being developed in close partnership with Instituto Superior Técnico, Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Central (Hospital Egas Moniz) and Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

"To date, we have supported 1,276 projects funded by more than EUR 730 million in the ERC, which is a very important support for Europeans who continue to focus on innovation, and the four Portuguese projects now awarded in Portugal are proofs of that when they invest in innovation, the Portuguese can be examples of excellence in this field”, stated by Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, responsible for the Horizon 2020 program that finances the SME Instrument
