On the 29th and 30th of June CIENCIAS hosted this year’s edition of CQEDays, where several researchers presented their work through oral, flash and poster presentations. Similar to previous editions, CQE coordinator Isabel Marrucho open the conference with a message of welcome to all of the participants.
In addition to the plenary lectures by researchers Miguel Castanho (Faculty of Medicine – University of Lisbon), Adélio Mendes (Faculty of Engineering – University of Porto), José Gomes (University of Aveiro) and Filipe Natálio (Faculty of Sciences and Technology – Nova University of Lisbon), there were 15 oral presentations, 9 flash presentations and 126 posters were presented and discussed during the event.
A round table entitled “The Future of Science and Innovation in Portugal: the Role of R&D units in Shaping AI2 Strategic Decisions”, moderated by Patrícia Guerreiro (CQE |IMS), counted with the participation of Rui Munhá (member of the expert team coordinated by Professor Maria do Rosário Partidário, working on the AI² Strategic Assessment | FCT) Inês Neto (TecLabs), Miguel Rodrigues (SMARTFREEZ) and Isabel Marrucho (CQE | IMS) provided an overview of the strategic assessment currently being conducted while reflecting on the role that R&D units can play in shaping the future priorities of AI².
The closing session was led by CQE coordinator at CIÊNCIAS, Ana S. Viana, and awards were given to the best presentations.
